About Astor & Orion
Astor & Orion is a contemporary jewelry brand founded in 2018 by designer Karen Hartman. Based in Seattle, the brand fuses sculpture and fashion in original ways, creating pieces that feel intentional, expressive, and distinctly its own.
Each design begins as a hand-sculpted 3D model. This process allows for a level of precision and dimensionality that brings the work to life on the body. Forms are refined through multiple iterations to achieve a sense of movement, weight, and presence.
Inspired by mythology, symbolism, and the raw beauty of the Pacific Northwest, Astor & Orion explores the relationship between strength and softness, structure and fluidity. The collection offers modern adornments that carry meaning without feeling literal. These are pieces designed to be worn, lived in, and returned to over time.
Production is carried out in small batches using recycled metals, in partnership with a third-party certified facility that meets high environmental and labor standards. Each piece is designed with circularity in mind so it can be fully recycled at the end of its life.
