Pearls have a reputation for being saved to be passed down the generations. Ours are made to be worn now.

They’re baroque and keishi pearls, freshwater and no two quite alike, chosen for the sculptural shapes a perfect round can’t give you. We set them in our own designs, drawn in our Seattle studio, so they read modern rather than inherited.

What makes these pearls sustainable isn’t branding, it’s biology. Freshwater pearls only grow in clean water, which gives the communities that cultivate them a reason to protect their watersheds. Where mining a gemstone takes something out of the ground, cultivating a pearl gives a reason to keep the water it grows in healthy. The settings are cast from recycled metals in small batches, by a partner we’ve worked with for years. That partner is certified to the Sedex SMETA 4-Pillar standard, a third-party audit covering living wages, health and safety, environmental impact, and business ethics.
