Sustainable Fashion Bloggers I Love

I LOVE SUSTAINABLE FASHION- BUT I KNOW FIRSTHAND HOW HARD IT CAN BE TO FIND ETHICAL CLOTHING.

When you first discover how your style choices impact people and the planet, it makes you want to dive headfirst into the world of shopping mindfully. But it can be hard to know where to look. I’ve invested my life into practicing sustainability, and over the years I’ve discovered some incredible blogs that I now follow religiously.

It’s time to find ethical options that you love -- easier said than done. Finding good information that hasn’t been greenwashed can be hard - after all, you don’t become an expert overnight.

But all of these bloggers  do their research, and care deeply about people and the planet as much as we do. You can find lifestyle tips, new brands to follow, design advice, and good people. Here are my favorites:

1. SUSTAINABLY CHIC

Natalie’s blog, Sustainably Chic, combines sustainable fashion, green beauty, and eco lifestyle. She’s been sharing great content since 2014, and has never steered me wrong when it comes to  sustainable style and ethical brands. I love how many topics she covers: fashion, beauty, home and beauty, children and parenting, even weddings! If you need a holistic place to start your sustainable fashion journey, she’s the one for you!

2. THE HONEST CONSUMER

The Honest Consumer is run by Emily, who identifies herself as an “anxious creative.” It focuses on fair fashion, social impact, mental health awareness, and conscious living. The Honest Consumer perfectly answers the question of where to find socially responsible goods, and it’s been a godsend for me to find a trustworthy source for who’s who in ethical style. She also runs an eco-friendly boutique, Give a Damn Goods (cute, right?), where she brings her own designs and other creatives into the spotlight.

3. STYLEWISE

Leah’s the woman behind StyleWise, and she focuses on hyper-local community care to combat unethical fashion practices. She’s fiercely dedicated to social justice, and is a fountain of resources for stepping through the complex world of garment and goods production systems. I love her shopping guides, industry talk, and her latest ethical alternatives series. If you want to take a deeper dive into the philosophical side of ethical fashion, StyleWise is the place to start.

4. THE ECO HUB

If you’re looking for an expert in all things eco friendly, The Eco Hub is the stop for you. Candice has 20 years of experience in sustainable living. She distills her experiences in Environmental Journalism, eco-friendly TV, and climate change documentary-making into her blog to empower people to make those simple, small changes that add up to all the difference. She covers sustainable living, zero waste, cleaning, ethical fashion, green beauty, and health - so you know she knows what she’s talking about.

5. CONSCIOUS LIFE & STYLE

Conscious Life & Style was founded by Elizabeth Joy, and it’s a digital media destination for all the resources you need to get involved in holistic personal, community, and planetary wellbeing (her words!). She’s created a wonderful place to get educated on the systemic challenges to saving the planet and valuing people, and I seriously appreciate her dedication to centering BIPOC and marginalized communities in the conversation surrounding solutions to the world’s problems. If you want to get started in your slow, eco-conscious lifestyle while looking good responsibly and taking in all perspectives, follow Conscious Life & Style for fashion, lifestyle, home, beauty, and blogging tips. Oh, and she also has a podcast. Whew!

6. CONSCIOUS FASHION COLLECTIVE

Okay, I admit it. I can’t get enough of Elizabeth Joy. She’s also the curator of Conscious Fashion Collective, expanding her focus on uplifting those often marginalized in the fashion community. Conscious Fashion Collective centers around discovering ethical fashion brands and exploring the issues in the industry. It’s a feature account, showcasing the people working to make a change in the industry. Inclusivity is paramount, and so it constantly features BIPOC, LGBTQ+, non-straight-sized, or otherwise marginalized brands, founders, and creatives.

7. ANIKA PANNU LIFESTYLE

I absolutely adore Anika Pannu’s creative eye, encouraging words, and knack for bringing home inspiration from her travels. Her blog is a delightful trip into patterns, beauty, recipes, and travel guides. But, of course, she wouldn’t be on my list of sustainable blogs if she didn’t also delve into the ethical practices and products she uses to help her on her journey. For living ethically and beautifully, you can pull inspiration from everything she does.

8. SUSTAINABLY SHELBI

If you’re not watching Shelbizleee on YouTube, you can find her blogging about all things environmentally friendly. Her passion is sustainably living, and her blog focuses on zero waste, eco-beauty, fashion, and lifestyle. She channels her mantra, “you cannot do all the good that the world needs, but the world needs all the good that you can do,” into everything she writes.

9. THE MINDFUL ARGONAUT

I absolutely love the nonjudgmental, thoughtful space for discussing progress that The Mindful Argonaut has created. Their blog is a curiously anonymous, no-nonsense, valuable source of actionable change, delicate conversations, and the best in ethical fashion. Their content looks at what it means to be ethical from an intersectional feminist lens, centering brands and individual decisions that advance sustainability and worker’s rights. I find this resource hub especially interesting, since much of their content is direct links to accredited sources. If you want to be sure that you’re getting all the right info, I’d give them a try!

10. STYLISHLY SHELBY

We started this list holistically, and that’s where we’ll end it. Stylishly Shelby takes you on a journey through living slowly and imperfectly. She recommends mindful books, travel, fashion, mindful living, and shopping guides! I love her Stylishly You workbook, where she helps the hopeful fashionista make sense of their own closets and find what they love.
